We're Better Together. The success of each child's education, especially in the early years, depends on a strong partnership between the household and the classroom.
For that reason, we work hard to partner with parents and guardians and to keep you informed all year long. The following frequently asked questions are designed to help you have peace of mind and to describe how we will work together to make this year a success. |
FAQ
What do you do to keep my child safe?
At Hearts and Hands Preschool, your child’s safety is our priority! It is our responsibility to provide and maintain a safe environment for our students. We remain in compliance with all state and local agencies so our building and grounds are safe and secure. We will never release your child with someone unless you have given us permission. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please contact us.
Are snacks provided?
We will have a small snack each day. Snacks will be provided by Hearts and Hands Preschool at the beginning of the year and by preschool families for the remainder of the year. We will create and share a schedule in the fall.
What if my child has food, medical, or environmental allergies?
Please be sure to make us aware upon enrollment. We will take every precaution to make sure he or she remains safe.
How does drop-off work?
All students will be expected to be dropped off by 9:00 a.m. and walked to the door by a parent or registered guardian. All entrance doors to the preschool will be locked during the duration of the day.
How does pick-up work?
Parents or registered guardians must walk to the front door to pick up their children at dismissal. This helps us maintain the safety of our students and ensures we have an appropriate record of each child’s departure. If someone other than the parent or registered guardian is picking up your child, that adult must arrive with a driver’s license and you must have notified us of this change in advance. If the person picking up is included on your child's "Authorization for Pick-up" form, then your child will be released after checking identification without the need for prior communication.
What if I need to pick up my child unexpectedly?
Please notify the staff as soon as possible by calling (317) 939-2105.
What if I’m running late for pick up?
Students are expected to be picked up on time. We understand there are emergencies and situations beyond the control of the parent, but please be respectful. There will be a $20 late fee assessed if late pick up becomes habitual.
What happens in the event of inclement weather and holidays?
Hearts and Hands Preschool follows the Brownsburg Community School Corporation schedule for weather-related closings and holiday breaks. (It is a good idea to follow the corporation on Facebook and Twitter.) If Brownsburg Schools are canceled, we will also be closed. If Brownsburg has a delay, we will also run on a delay. We will begin at 10:00 a.m. and dismiss at noon. Communication will be made via email and Facebook if there is an unscheduled delay or closure.
When are tuition payments due?
Tuition payments are due on the first day of each month that your child has school. A $50 late fee will be assessed if tuition is not received by the 15th of each month.
